2. Special Lecture on "Reflections on Indian Diaspora" by Parmatama Sharam, City University of New York oran, Research Scientist, Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization organized by ANSISS, on 12 December, 2014 at Seminar Hall, ANSISS, Patna

Prof Parmatama Sharan lecture was focused on Indian Diaspora. He highlighted following points:
Prof. Sharan's lecture focussed on how to maintain Indian Identity and Presence of Indian Heritage. He said that Immigration pattern is changed after sixties , now most of the immigrants belongs to higher strata of the population. It was argued that maintaining Indian Identity is a real challenge, it mostly depends on Religion and Language. Nowadays, Internet and Social networking sites plays a major role in maintaining identity. Remittances is the glitter part of the Diaspora, in which china is better. Empowerment of immigrants in the all walks of life is changing the profile of Indian Diaspora. He said that, time is ripe now, India should connect with foreign academic institution for maintain its own identity. The lecture was followed by an interaction session with the audience.
